Currently watching: Alien (1979)

As I await Hurricane Irene and her wrath, I’m watching the Alien quadrology. The first Alien is by far my favorite since it felt more like a thriller than a cheesy action film. We had this great threat from an unknown creature set in a very 2001: A Space Odyssey environment. I don’t know why but I find it oddly comforting to watch horror films during times like these. Plus, the baby alien always looked a little cute to me.

Currently watching: Star Wars (1977)

The original release and not the 2004 digitally remastered DVD copy. Why? Because I can and there’s just a sense of loss and inauthenticity with the 2004 version.
