Yesterday I got to see Benedict Cumberbatch and Jonny Lee Miller in the modern Prometheus, aka Frankenstein, at BAM and tonight I saw the other Prometheus at the Film Society of Lincoln Center.
I might write a full-on review later, but the film itself was an adrenaline rush! I still don’t think it was better than Alien, but definitely more up my alley than Aliens, 3 and Resurrection. Kind of did miss seeing good ol’ Ripley around, but Michael Fassbender’s performance in this well made up for her absence. I’m not completely sold on Noomi Rapace as this new lead for the franchise, but she’s growing on me.
I also saw Snow White and the Huntsman last night and it was not great. BUT Charlize Theron was excellent in it, of course. I had forgotten she was in Prometheus, so my weekend had a whole lot of Charlize in it. And I don’t mind in the least.
So guys, who else is excited for this film?

New trailer for Ridley Scott’s Alien prequel (sort of), Prometheus starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Charlize Theron, Patrick Wilson and Logan Marshall-Green. In theaters June 8th.

Whoa, guys. Rarely am I so impressed by a trailer. I absolutely love Alien (not so much its sequels), but I was a bit dubious about this (sort of) prequel. Gotta say though, if the film is half as suspenseful as this trailer then we are in for a sci-fi horror treat. With Scott once again at the helm of this franchise, a stellar ensemble cast and a script by LOST’s Damon Lindelof, I’m going to bet it’ll be pretty damn exciting. What do you all think?
